WRITER, PHOTOGRAPHER, BLOGGER, PROOFREADER

"Beverly knows how to tailor her queries to the interests of a magazine’s readership—in our case, people who shop in health food stores—and how to meet deadlines with well-researched stories. It’s been a pleasure to work with  her." Lisa James, Managing Editor, Energy Times

"Wow, how refreshing to have a writer deliver on time, exactly what I needed, wanted and assigned.  Great job as usual! Thank you!" Janis Turk, managing editor, San Antonio At Home

CURIOSITY...ACCURACY...DEPENDABILITY...AND A SENSE OF ADVENTURE

That's what I bring to every assignment. Whether you need an article on health and nutrition, travel, home and garden, family and parenting, or any other topic, I can cover it for you.  I also love writing profiles and essays. My credits include national and regional consumer magazines, custom publications, anthologies, and online venues.  Even if I haven't tackled your exact project, I'm willing to give it a try.

I love learning new things, experiencing new adventures, and sharing information in reader-friendly copy. I'm a diligent researcher who turns in clean copy on or before deadline--always aiming to make an editor's job easier.  Please let me know what you need and how I can help provide content for your publication.

Want to know a bit more about me?

I'm a Texas-based freelance journalist (since 2000), former teacher at public and private schools, preschool director, newspaper reporter, mother of four, and--ahem--grandmother. I have B.A. and M.A. degrees in English with minor in journalism from Sam Houston State University.

When not working at my computer, I  enloy being outdoors playing tennis, golf, or gardening. My passion is travel--both domestic and international, and I won't shy away from a challenge. (Check out my trapeze adventure!)

Travel goes hand-in-hand with photography, so I provide quality digital images to illustrate my stories or the work of others--and my images can stand alone.

My mantra: Live life to the fullest every day.
